Cocoa
Main crop and light crop beans from the south west and Cross River belts, plus semi-finished products from our processing partners.
BMAgro sources agricultural commodities at origin in Nigeria and West Africa and supplies them to the food, feed and cosmetics industries worldwide. Cocoa, sesame, cashew, shea, grains, spices and feed ingredients, shipped to contract specification.
BMAgro began in 1998 as a produce buying station in the south west of Nigeria, weighing cocoa and palm kernel for local processors. Three decades later we ship containers and bulk parcels to processors and manufacturers across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America.
What has not changed is where we start. Our buyers live in the growing areas, our warehouses sit next to the markets that supply them, and the people who inspect a lot in Ilorin are the same people who answer your email in Lagos. That is how a shipment arrives at the specification it was sold on.
We trade on GAFTA and FOSFA terms, work FOB and CIF, and are equally comfortable with a single container of dried ginger or a bulk parcel of sesame seed.
Everything below is traded to written specification, in container or bulk. Ask for the current offer sheet with crop year, packing and available quantities.

What sits behind the contract: sourcing, processing, finance and the logistics that get a parcel on the water on time.
Buying stations in the producing areas and long standing relationships with co-operatives, so we buy at source rather than off the market floor.
Cleaning, destoning, grading, sorting, drying and fumigation at our own stores, then bagging and palletising to your packing instruction.
Inland haulage, container stuffing under supervision, and booking through Apapa, Tin Can and Lekki Deep Sea Port, with weekly position reports.
We work against letters of credit, documents against payment and cash against documents, and pre finance our supply side so farmers are paid at delivery.
Sampling at intake and before loading, moisture, FFA, oil content and aflatoxin testing, with retained samples held for six months after shipment.
Bill of lading, certificate of origin, phytosanitary, fumigation, weight and quality certificates, prepared to your letter of credit wording.
The same three stages behind every contract, whether it is one container of ginger or a bulk parcel of sesame.
You tell us the commodity, specification, quantity and shipment period. We come back with a firm offer, and on acceptance we issue a contract on GAFTA or FOSFA terms.
Our buyers aggregate the parcel at origin. It is cleaned, graded and dried to specification in our stores, sampled at intake, then held under fumigation until loading.
Stuffing under third party supervision, certificates issued at load port, and documents presented to your bank within the days allowed by the credit.
Tell us the commodity, specification, quantity, destination port and shipment period. Our trading desk replies within one working day.
